Powder for oral administration

Beschreibung

Gentamycin sulphate belongs to the group of aminoglycosides and acts bactericidally against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. The bactericidal action is based on inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.

Aufbau

Contains per gram powder:
Gentamycin sulphate	200 mg.
Carrier ad	1 g.

Anzeigen

Gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by gentamycin sensitive bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in calves, goats, poultry, sheep and swine.

Gegenanzeigen

Hypersensitivity to gentamycin sulphate.
Administration to animals with a seriously impaired hepatic and/or renal function.

Nebenwirkungen

Hypersensitivity reactions.
High and prolonged application may result in neurotoxicity, ototoxicity and/or nephrotoxicity.

Dosierung

For oral administration:

Calves goats and sheep	:	Twice daily 1 gram per 80 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days.
Poultry and swine	:	1 kg per 4000 litres drinking water for 3 - 5 days.

Note: for pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.

Entwöhnungszeiten

- For meat	:	21 days.
- For milk	:	3 days.
